LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people were shot and killed inside a Henderson community on Friday night and residents shared with 8 News Now that they are shocked after the disturbing incident.
“I’ve never seen anything disturbing like this,” longtime resident, Vincent Damato shared with 8 News Now.
Henderson Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were found dead inside a residence.
The suspect, 41-year-old Karl Groschen, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon.
Neighbors recalled seeing the street blocked off, but not realizing the severity of the situation.
“We had no idea what was going on. We just saw the cops and all the fire trucks and yellow tape. It’s very disturbing,” neighbor, Cameron Farrow said.
While Henderson Police have not confirmed how those involved are connected, other neighbors believe it started as a family argument that escalated.
“It was a family dispute so not a random guy coming through shooting a gun. I heard it was the stepfather. I used to walk my dog around there and I always would talk to the neighbors,” longtime resident, Joan Potie shared.
Henderson Police stated that this remains an open investigation as this is the eighth and ninth homicide for the City of Henderson this year.
