A List of Kid Friendly Pools in Las Vegas

Family Pool Fun Underwater

Finding kid-friendly pools in Las Vegas is not as easy as it seems. Las Vegas hotels might have a lazy river or a wave pool, but that same pool might have a DJ and be filled with a drinking party crowd that you wouldn’t want your kids anywhere near. Below is our list of the best family pools in Las Vegas with details on what each pool area offers and why we think your family will enjoy spending the day there.

Best Family Pools in Las Vegas on the Strip

Mandalay Bay Resort

Leading off our best family pools in Las Vegas list is the Mandalay Bay Beach, an amazing pool complex and our choice for the most fun and family friendly pool. This fantastic pool area has a few different spots to enjoy your day with your kids. First off is the beach area which has real sand and kind of makes you feel like you are on a tropical beach. Beyond that is the huge 1.6-million gallon Wave Pool which has fun waves, some up to six feet high, rolling toward you constantly. To the right of the wave pool is the Lazy River which is a quarter mile of gentle moving waters that you can float along. To the left of the wave pool is an area with shallow waters for the young kids. In addition to all of that, there are two more pools, Jacuzzi spas and a bar and grill. Visit the Mandalay Bay website for more information.

Circus Circus Splash Zone

Rather than just having a nice hotel pool, Circus Circus has gone above and beyond that by adding water park features to its existing pools. The Splash Zone is over an acre of water fun that only registered hotel guests can enjoy. The water park complex features a 50-foot tower with three different water slides, a water playground, two pools, two whirlpools, lounge chairs and rental cabanas. The slide tower has a four-lane mat racer, a curving aqua tube and a speed slide. The splash pad is the water playground area for the younger kids and features big spill buckets, waterfalls, water cannons and water jets. Combine all of the new features with the newly renovated pools and whirlpools and this is one of the best pools in Vegas for families. Visit the Circus Circus website for more information.

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Grand Pool is a large 6.5 acre pool complex consisting of three pools, a lazy river and three whirlpool spas all set in a tropical landscape setting. The Backlot River is a quarter of a mile of winding lazy river that you and the kids can float along with one of the tube rentals. The Backlot River also has a connected clover shaped pool that has fun waterfalls cascading from above. The lazy river will be the main pool area that the kids will want to stay in most of the time so we recommend getting a tube rental. Visit MGM Grand website for more information.

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

There are multiple pools and a lot of lounge chairs at the 30,000 square foot Excalibur pool area. The most exciting and family friendly of these pools is the Slide Pool which has a cool “rock” formation along one side of the pool that includes a very fun waterslide as well as waterfalls flowing from the rocks onto the edges of the pool. Another pool has a very shallow area which is good for lying out in the sun while in the water or having your non-swimming kids playing in the water. Visit the Excalibur Hotel website for more information.

The Mirage Hotel & Casino

One of the nicest pool atmospheres in Las Vegas is the tropical paradise looking pool of the Mirage Hotel. The beauty of the massive pool area is amazing and it is lined with beautiful palm trees and green foliage to go along with the crystal clear blue waters. The water of the pool is not that deep which makes it easier for the kids and The Mirage also offers complimentary life jackets for children upon request. The interconnected lagoons have coves, bridges and a wonderful waterfall falling from the island rocks. This pool is in the top three of our best family pools in Las Vegas for those families with older kids. Visit The Mirage Hotel website for more information.

The Beach Club Pool is a smaller oval pool with lounge chairs circling it and the area is set among the beautiful tropical decor of the nearby Wildlife Habitat. Close by the Beach Club Pool are a set of water slides that the kids will enjoy. The series of water slides are connected one after another and range from long and curvy to short and sweet. Park MGM (Formally the Monte Carlo)

Park MGM has been redesigned since it took over the Monte Carlo, so please check first to see if the pool area has been redone. The expansive pool area of this resort will keep the kids happy and busy with four different pools to choose from. Park MGM gives families a choice of a large wave pool with varying depths, a 400-foot-long lazy river, which is perfect for floating around, a lagoon pool for regular swimming and a kiddie pool with shallow waters and smaller beach chairs to lounge on. All of the pools all offer a unique experience and will have you and the kids choosing which pool suits your mood at the time. The pool area also offers reserved seating – no need to wake up at 7am to get a pool lounge chair – as well as pool-side food and drink service. Visit the Park MGM Resort’s website for more information.

Best Family Pools in Las Vegas off the Strip

Golden Nugget

Equally as impressive as the strip hotels and also a top choice for the best family pools in Las Vegas is The Tank at the Golden Nugget in Downtown Las Vegas. At the center of the swimming pool is 200,000 gallon shark tank where swimmers can get an up-close look. If looking into the shark tank from the outside is not enough, The Tank has an enclosed three story water slide which goes right through the center of the shark tank. Just south of the Las Vegas Strip, the Tahiti Village Resort has one of the best family pools in Las Vegas that the kids will especially love. The Tahitian themed free-form pool has a shallow sandy beach entry and is surrounded by palm trees and Palapas. To go along with the beautiful pool is a fantastic 1/8 of a mile lazy river which has tiki poles that spout out water and waterfalls from overhead rocks and bridges to cool you off as you float around the river. To make it easier on the parents’ wallets, guests are also given complimentary lazy river tubes to use for the day. Visit the Tahiti Village Resort website for more information.

Just a bit further south on the Las Vegas Strip is the Cancun Resort which boasts a wonderful and family friendly pool complex. The resort has two pools, the large Mayan Lagoon and the smaller Mayan Cove pool, with a huge Mayan pyramid between them. The middle of the pyramid has water cascading from the top of the pyramid down to a waterfall and into the pool. As you swim under the waterfall you are taken under the pyramid which has a Jacuzzi area. The kids will also love the four fun water slides of the Mayan Cove pool. Visit the Cancun Resort website for more details.

South Point Hotel

The free form pool of the South Point might not have any of the fancy wave pools or lazy rivers, but this turquoise water pool is a nice place for families to spend a day at the pool. The large lagoon style swimming pool has a wading pool area which is great place for the smaller kids to swim and splash around in the shallow waters. The adults and older kids can have fun in the rest of the pool which offers plenty of room for play or swimming. The pool area has a large gazebo for getting some shade and plenty of lounge chairs by the pool to relax on. See our article on the South Point Hotel or visit their website for more information.
