LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead another was hospitalized after a four-vehicle crash in the east Las Vegas valley.

The crash occurred on Saturday around 12: 30 p.m. in the area of Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue.

Police said four cars were involved and two people were ejected from two separate cars.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said speed does appear to be a factor in the crash.

The intersection of Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue was closed, according to RTC Southern Nevada. Drivers are advised to use other routes.
