Sitting right on the Lake of Dreams, Lakeside at the Wynn Las Vegas has been a popular fine-dining destination for its food — Alaskan king crab pasta, Maine lobster tails, and a dry-aged bigeye tuna chop — above all else, a notable feat considering the elaborate shows that take place on the water. Now, Wynn is closing Lakeside permanently before the end of the month, replacing it with a Mediterranean restaurant from an award-winning chef.
In early 2025, Wynn will debut Fiola Mare, a Mediterranean seafood restaurant from James Beard and Michelin-awarded chef and restaurateur Fabio Trabocchi. The chef operates restaurants in Florida and Washington D.C., primarily serving seafood and Italian fare. Like its sister restaurant of the same name in D.C., the Wynn location will feature a raw bar at the entrance of the restaurant, opulent seafood towers, dishes prepared tableside, and grilled seafood entrees. A signature drinks menu and roving cart of daily catches from which guests can choose a fish and its preparation complete the picture.
“Since moving to the U.S. in 2000 from Le Marche, Italy, I’ve dreamt of having a restaurant in Las Vegas,” Trabocchi said in a statement to Eater.
The Lakeside dining room will get an update with maritime-inspired designs, custom furnishings inspired by classic French and Italian designs from the 1940s and 1950s, and a new floor-plan that will take advantage of the adjacent lake — giving more diners a view of shows that run every 30 minutes and feature a larger-than-life singing frog, abstract projections on a flowing waterfall, and floating emoji balls that dance along the water’s surface.
Thankfully, Wynn visitors will only have to wait a few months for its reveal.
