LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One woman’s morning commute turned into a terrifying road rage incident in Henderson.

“It’s dangerous out there and I didn’t think that would ever happen to me,” Lo Ann shared.

Ann told 8 News Now in an exclusive interview that Tuesday morning she was merging onto the 95 from the 215 when a silver truck sped up and forced her out of the way.

Minutes later as she approached the same intersection with the truck, she said he pointed a pistol at her.

“As I drove by him, I honked and while passing he had a silver pistol, holding it out of his window and pointing it in my direction,” Ann said.

In disbelief, Ann’s instincts kicked in and she knew she needed to report him.

“I got way behind him and took a picture of his license plate. He ended up turning onto Horizon Drive into the Chevron gas station,” she said. “I could see him pumping gas and also putting something in the toolbox in the back of his truck, which I assumed to be the gun.”

Ann called 911 and within minutes, she said Henderson Police showed up.

“They pulled him over and there were 5 cops surrounding him. They found the gun in his toolbox.”

Ann plans on pressing charges and while still shaken up, she is proud that she stood up for herself.

“I’m just grateful that I’m OK and that they got his gun and that he wasn’t able to do that to anyone else, because he was driving like a psycho,” she added.

8 News Now learning the name of that driver from Henderson Police.

Alvaro Madrid, 51, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
