LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A woman is asking the community for help after she said she had been robbed and stabbed after Thanksgiving.
“This man did this to us and it’s not fair,” Billie Jackson shared with 8 News Now.
Jackson added that she was trying to keep it together as she and her family have endured a string of unfortunate events this past year.
Jackson told 8 News Now that it happened at the Siegel Suites on MLK Boulevard near Bonanza Road where she and her sons currently reside and that she filed a report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
“There was a man standing next to the stairs and he came over and asked me for a cigarette. I don’t smoke. He got really close to me. I went to turn around and he pushed me up against the wall and I didn’t feel the knife go in. I felt a tug and then he took off running. I reached down and there was blood everywhere,” Jackson shared.
She also added that her wallet was stolen too. Her son who was just a couple feet away in their apartment called 911 and Jackson was rushed to UMC Trauma Care.
“I was there for a few hours and fortunately there weren’t any major organs hit. I saw the surgeon Monday and I will have to have surgery soon,” she added.
Jackson told 8 News Now that she believes Siegel Suites is trying to push her out, even though all of her money was stolen on their property.
“Siegel Suites hasn’t done anything other than apologize and ask me not to make a big deal about it. They did file an eviction and every time there is a knock on the door, I’m scared,” Jackson said.
She also told 8 News Now that the Las Vegas Metro police told her there weren’t any security cameras on-site working, except the ones in the office that were facing outward.
As for the suspect, Jackson said the man looked to be in his early thirties. About 5’6 with a shaved head wearing a dark gray UCLA sweatshirt.
“He had a tattoo on his neck and a green tattoo on his hand, but I couldn’t make out what it was,” she added.
Jackson also added that she is in constant communication with the police. She plans on having surgery next month for her stab wound while she continues undergoing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.
8 News Now reached out to Siegel Suites and is awaiting a response regarding the incident and its safety protocols on the property.
