Location and Accessibility – Wynn or Encore?

First things first, let’s talk about location and accessibility. Both Wynn and Encore are in prime locations on the Strip. Even better, the two properties are connected to each other with a covered walkway. The location of both hotels means they are easy to access via rideshares, taxis, or even a leisurely walk from nearby attractions.

Picking a winner depends on what you’re looking for. If you want a quieter stay, then you should opt for Encore, as guests staying at Encore benefit from shared access to Wynn’s amenities. If you think the walk from Encore to Wynn is going to be time-consuming (many people feel this way, especially on Reddit), then you’ll want to choose the Wynn.

As of December 2024, nearly 1,300 mentions of “location” are in Wynn Google reviews, with 84% of those positive. For Encore, there are nearly 600 reviews, with 79% being positive.

Does The Wynn or Encore Have Better Room Types and Amenities?

In addition to these rooms, Encore also lets you upgrade into a world of even more luxury through their Parlor and Salon Suites. You can also upgrade to a 3,475 two-bedroom apartment or a 5,829 sq ft three-bedroom duplex. Overall, both are great options, and in the end, tour choice will be determined by budget, personal preferences, and some of the other things we’re yet to talk about.

Which Property Has a Better Pool and Spa Area?

Both hotels have pools and spas that guests love.

Wynn’s pool deck spans 144,387 square feet, complete with four pools set among lush gardens and tiling. The main pool is an impressive 107 yards long and heated to a comfortable temperature. For guests looking for something more private, there are exclusive areas inside the Tower Suites’ Pool. If you want to avoid children, guests can head to the Sunset Pool, which is an adult-only European-style retreat where topless sunbathing is optional. Guests can also enjoy cabanas and daybed rentals, with attentive poolside food and drink service.

Encore’s pool area is smaller, at just over 65,000 square feet. Encore offers two luxurious pools alongside the lively Encore Beach Club, a hotspot for daytime parties featuring DJs and multiple temperature-controlled pools. When it comes to spas, The Spa at Wynn was the first in Las Vegas to receive a Forbes Five-Star Award, and shortly after, The Spa at Encore also received the Forbes Five-Star Award. Both Spas are world-class and will provide an incredible experience.

Both resorts offer heated pools, cabana rentals, and poolside service. But here’s the key difference most people don’t know: pool access isn’t reciprocal. Encore guests can use both the Encore and Wynn pools, but Wynn guests can only access the Wynn pools. So if pool variety matters to you, staying at Encore gives you the best of both which is a real point in Encore’s favor.

Does Encore or Wynn Offer Better Gaming and Casino Options?

Wynn’s casino floor is huge. It spans 111,000 square feet, offering a wide variety of gaming options, including 1,962 slot machines and 137 table games. There’s also a dedicated Race & Sports Book, complete with a VIP lounge.

Encore, on the other hand, has a much smaller casino at 72,000 square feet, offering a more intimate and, we’d say, refined gambling experience. At Encore, you’ll find over 800 slot machines and 90 table games.

Encore has its own Race & Sports Book too — a more intimate setup with betting stations and multiple screens, next to the Encore Players Lounge. What sets Encore apart is its lower table minimums and quieter ambiance, which make it appealing to anyone after a boutique casino environment. Encore might also be the better spot if you’re still learning how to play slots.

On the flip side, Wynn is the place to be for the “complete” Las Vegas casino experience, with more tables, more slots, and the larger, livelier floor.

Wynn or Encore for Dining and Entertainment? 

This section is unique because most visitors to Vegas explore dining and entertainment beyond their resort. However, with that said, in our opinion, the Wynn is a property with some of the most diverse range of high-quality restaurants in Vegas. 

Guests enjoy everything from Japanese cuisine at Mizumi to Sinatra’s Italian dishes and even indulge in premium cuts of steak at SW Steakhouse. For entertainment, Wynn delivers one of the most unique and best shows Vegas has to offer, ‘Awakening.’

Encore, on the other hand, shines as a nightlife hub. XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club are standout attractions known for their energetic atmospheres and world-class DJs.

Although there are fewer restaurants inside Encore, there’s nothing stopping guests from simply enjoying the dining options Wynn has to offer. As you can see from the rates above, prices swing depending on your dates — sometimes Encore is significantly cheaper (over $100/night less in our July example), sometimes Wynn edges ahead, and on peak dates they’re identical. Since both share the same resort fee, the same location, and the same amenity access, our advice is simple: check both for your exact dates and book whichever is cheaper — you’re getting a nearly identical luxury experience either way. The only real tiebreaker is room size (Encore’s 745 sq ft suites vs Wynn’s 640 sq ft) and vibe.
