Friday, I went to the Fontainebleu Las Vegas. My goal was a new exhibit there, the Hall of Excellence, an exhibit of memorabilia from a number of sports and entertainment figures. The Hall of Excellence is owned by Broadcasters Jim Gray and Tom Brady in partnership with the Fontainebleu.

Friday around Noon, the Fontainebleu Las Vegas was not crowded. Fortunately, a guard was on hand when I arrived and gave me directions. I had parked in the Fontainebleu’s public parking garage ($20) and the distance from the parking garage to the attraction required walking quite a distance.

Upon finding and entering the Hall of Excellence, I was greeted by a young lady who explained that my “senior” and “local” discount was just $5 and I owed $30 to enter. She gave me earbuds, a map and a hand-held “scanner” that was supposed to bring live voices to each display. She told me a full look at everything would take about an hour.

I must say the exhibit was quite lovely–everything looking brand new. (The exhibit opened June 20, 2025) I had my purse, the map, the scanner, my camera, and the earbuds and found it all a bit much. I am not a small person, but my ear openings must be small because those earbuds kept falling out. Finally, I decided to just not hear the descriptions at each display and to walk through the exhibit.

I walked the exhibit which is much larger than I had envisioned. I was fascinated by many things–in particular the many awards given out in sports and entertainment. They were lovely.

And then there were the jerseys and the shoes and the golf clubs and bats and golf balls. Sports fans will love this exhibit. As I was leaving, the hostess reminded me that the earbuds were mine to keep, and she presented two bookmarks. Yes, I took a few pictures; they don’t do justice to the displays, but you’ll get the idea.
