LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With Election Day less than two weeks away both parties are working hard to get voters to the polls in Nevada.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was back in Las Vegas on Thursday as the keynote speaker at the ‘Unite For Change’ Rally an Asian American and Pacific Islander community event at the Thomas and Mack Center.
The event started Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. with former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard and other Republican allies also expected to take the stage including former race car driver Danika Patrick, U.S. Senate candidate Sam Brown, Florida Senator Marco Rubio who grew up in Nevada, Charlie Kirk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
The event is part of the GOP’s move to court the Asian American Pacific Islander vote in Las Vegas and Nevada, according to event organizer Turning Point USA.
Asian Americans make up about 12% of Nevada’s electorate and voters are being addressed by each presidential campaign.
Former President Trump has made many trips to Nevada and Las Vegas throughout the campaign focusing on the no taxes on tips proposal, an implementation of tariffs on imports, and plans for tax cuts.
During his time at the rally, Trump also circled back to his plan to change immigration policies.
His next appearance is scheduled in Austin, Texas. He is set to return to Nevada for a rally in Henderson on Oct. 31.
Meanwhile, Harris campaigned in Georgia on Thursday with singer Bruce Springsteen, director Spike Lee, and Former President Barack Obama. Harris heads to Houston, Texas for an appearance on Friday.
