J Bar and Gold Lounge Tees Off in Chinatown!

Calling all golf enthusiasts and bar-hoppers! This Week in Chinatown is thrilled to announce the official opening of JD’s Golf Bar, a unique concept that combines the thrill of the green with the fun of a lively bar scene!

From Bar to Tee Time:

Remember back in April when we introduced you to the new bar-to-be, JD Bar and Lounge? The whispers surrounded a massive six-storefront transformation promising a beer-centric haven with a full menu and gaming options.

The plot thickened a few months later when insiders hinted at a potential shift in concept – an indoor golf screen simulator bar. We even reached out to the management for confirmation, but the details remained under wraps.

Well, the wait is finally over! JD’s Golf Bar has officially opened its doors, and it’s exactly what the rumors promised – a place to swing your clubs (virtually, of course) and enjoy refreshing drinks with friends!

Here’s what we can tell you for now:

  • Open Daily: J Bar & Golf Lounge is open 7 days a week from 12:00 pm to 2:00 am, giving you ample time to perfect your swing or enjoy a post-work drink (or two!).
  • Tee Up Your Inquiry: Have questions about pricing, simulator options, or reserving a tee time? Give them a call at (725) 205-2116.

Chinatown Cravings Alert: Sweet and Savory News!

We’re serving up a corrected scoop (with a side of delicious updates) about the buzz on Restaurant Row!

Sukuya Cafe Takes Flight!

  • Our previous report needs a sprinkle of clarification.
  • Sukuya Cafe will indeed be taking over the former Half Bird Chicken space, bringing sweet treats to Chinatown.
  • But here’s the twist: Gyu+ will be operating Sukuya Cafe under a licensing agreement with Sukuya Pastries.

Double the Deliciousness!

  • Get ready for a new dining experience curated by Gyu+ at Sukuya Cafe.
  • Don’t forget! Gyu+ is also opening its own independent restaurant just two doors down in the former DaGemi space.

The Return of Chamon?

Chamon Matcha Salon Update for This Week in Chinatown:

Is Chamon Matcha Coming Back to Life?

It’s been a year since we reported on the potential reopening of Chamon, the beloved Chinatown matcha salon, in April 2023. Back then, new signage sparked hope for a return, but unanswered calls left us with more questions than answers.

Here’s what we know:

  • As of today, March 29, 2024, there haven’t been any confirmed updates on Chamon’s reopening.

What you can do:

  • Keep an eye out for any new signage or online presence for Chamon.
  • If you happen to walk by the location, see if there are any updates posted.

We’ll keep you posted:

This Week in Chinatown is dedicated to bringing you the latest developments in Chinatown’s culinary scene. If any new information surfaces about Chamon, we’ll be sure to share it with you right away.

Fingers crossed for matcha lovers! We all eagerly await Chamon’s potential return and a chance to experience their matcha magic once again.

Flashback to Flavortown: A Year Ago in Chinatown!

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some exciting culinary buzz from Chinatown a year ago, this week in March 2023 (as reported in https://chinatownvegas.com/this-week-in-chinatown/):

Double Zero: The Mystery with a Doughy Delicious Future

Remember the tantalizing whispers of a new pizza haven – Double Zero (00) Pie & Pub? The news sent shivers (or should we say, “cheese-vers”) down the spines of local pizza aficionados. We hinted at a renowned pizza champion leading the team, but details were shrouded in secrecy! The buzz included a streamlined appetizer menu, a focus on “Neapolitan hybrid” pizzas, and a custom-built Italian pizza oven ready to fire up culinary magic. (Spoiler alert: Double Zero is now a thriving Chinatown staple, and we all know the pizza champion is the incredible Michael Vakneen!)

New Chinese Restaurant on the Horizon (But Facing Delays)

The former Cafe Sanuki space was poised for a delicious transformation. A new Chinese restaurant was slated to take its place, but construction permit delays put the opening on hold. Did this restaurant eventually open its doors? Let us know in the comments!

What a Difference a Year Makes!

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how Chinatown’s culinary scene has evolved. Some establishments faced delays, while others like Double Zero and New Scratch Kitchen have become neighborhood favorites. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings for Chinatown’s taste buds!

That’s it for this week Until the next, keep enjoying Chinatown and remember: What happens in Chinatown happens here!
