Storytime with a Ranger

Join us for a nature-based story-time led by an interpretive ranger at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Visitors Center. Following the story-time, you are invited to participate in a nature-based craft activity and mingle with other families who share a love for nature. Advanced registration is required.
Junior Ranger Tabletop
Sunday, October 6, 9am – 12pm
Join an educator between 9 am and 12 pm in the Visitor Center of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to learn about the 7 Leave No Trace Principles and what you can do to become a Red Rock Canyon Junior Ranger.
Bat Walk
Monday, October 7, 530pm – 730pm
Join an Interpretive Naturalist for a bat walk at Red Springs picnic area and boardwalk. Expect to walk about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) as we dive into the behavior and ecology of these often misunderstood critters.
World Migratory Bird Day
Sunday, October 13, 9am – 12pm
World Migratory Bird Day is a biannual event where people come together to celebrate the amazing migratory feats of our avian inhabitants. This event aims to raise awareness around the extent of migration and emphasize the need for international cooperation within bird conservation and management. This year there will be special emphasize on the insects that help sustain our feathered friends along their journey. We will have multiple tables where you can learn about migratory birds, the insects they rely on and more. Stop by the Red Rock Conservations Area Visitor Center to chat all things birds!
Frogs & Froglets: Creepy Crawlers
Saturday, October 19, 10am – 1130am
Bring your preschoolers and kindergartners to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for an interactive program about the creepy crawlers that live here. Join one of our park rangers for story time, crafts, and games. Be ready to share your ideas and thoughts about spiders and insects. This program is suitable for ages 4-6 and is designed to provide opportunities for all family members to join in the fun. Advanced registration is required.
