Chef Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant at the MGM Grand, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, was closed by the Southern Nevada Health District on Thursday, January 2, following an inspection. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the health department uncovered multiple violations at the celebrity chef’s restaurant, which remained closed over the weekend.

The multi-day closure covers the restaurant, plus the prep kitchen, butcher shop, bar, hot line, server station, and exhibition kitchen. According to the restaurant’s website, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill remains closed but will reopen for dinner service at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 6.

Health district officials cited issues related to pest control and food safety, noting violations such as inadequate measures to prevent contamination, improper food handling, and potential cross-contamination risks. In total, 42 demerits were assigned across several operations, though no demerits were reported for the bar and server station.

Wolfgang Puck opened the Bar & Grill at the MGM Grand in 1992 after the success of Spago, his first Las Vegas restaurant. Puck’s other Las Vegas restaurants, Caramá at Mandalay Bay, Cut at the Venetian Resort, and 1228 Main downtown remain open.
