According to North Las Vegas Police, Wolfe was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head inside an apartment at a complex on East Rome Boulevard near Centennial Parkway and 5th Street on Sunday.

Friends of Wolfe’s told 8 News Now that they tried to contact her on Sunday but never got through.

Her cousin, Jasmyn Wolfe shared how tattooing was more than just her job, but a way of life for Renise, and a way to connect with her community.

“She was compassionate and understanding. Ms. Fix it as we would call her,” her cousin shared. “She always wanted to help somebody and I think she tried to help people by creating tattoos.”

Jasmyn also added that too often she hears about domestic violence situations across the valley, and had also seen Renise and her boyfriend hours prior.

“Something needs to change. We need to bring awareness because people are dying,” Jasmyn added.

Renise had been with Vegas Life Ink for five years. Her family shared with 8 News Now that the suspect, 29-year-old Markeem Benson turned himself in to North Las Vegas police shortly after the incident. According to police, Benson faces a murder charge with the use of a deadly weapon and a charge for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
