LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Animal Foundation is thanking the Las Vegas Valley community for its help in fostering animals to open spaces in the shelter.

“We’ve been overwhelmed with support,” the shelter posted on social media Friday evening, adding that 77 pets left for foster homes that day.

After taking in around 1,000 animals since the beginning of June, the shelter grappled with an overcrowding problem and called for help on Thursday announcing it was at “crisis capacity” and dogs were being kept in emergency pop-up kennels.

The Animal Foundation is closed on Mondays but reopens on Tuesdays for adoptions and fosters. Anyone who fosters a dog is provided with everything needed for the animal. If interested, this link is for the foster application. You can view available animals for adoption at this link.
