LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A building fire in the southeast Las Vegas valley claimed the life of one cat, but no other injuries were reported, Sunday.
Clark County fire crews were called to the scene of the building fire at the Sonoma Hills Apartments near 5100 East Tropicana around noon. The fire broke out in a structure that had previously sustained significant fire damage.
A total of 36 personnel responded, including six engines, two trucks, three rescues, and two battalion chiefs. The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes.

No injuries were reported among firefighters. However, two cats were discovered, one was found dead, while the other was safely turned over to animal control.
Board-up companies have since been called in to secure the property, according to Clark County.
