LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With a proposal that mirrors the street vendor ordinance adopted in Clark County, the City of North Las Vegas has scheduled an informational workshop Thursday evening to explain the rules.

A news release announced the workshop, scheduled at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 13, at North Las Vegas City Hall, 2250, Las Vegas Boulevard North. The workshop will be conducted in both English and Spanish, according to the city.

Details and guidelines will be discussed in an effort to make sure all vendors are well-informed and compliant with the regulations. “Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the legal requirements, safety protocols, and operational standards necessary for sidewalk street vending in North Las Vegas,” the news release said.

The licensing fee in North Las Vegas is $150, plus a $30 processing fee. A state business license is required.

The proposed ordinance appears below:

City officials including Business License Manager Cissy Flores and representatives of the health department will be available to answer questions. More information is available in English and Spanish on the North Las Vegas website.

Clark County approved its rules on April 16 and celebrated as it awarded its first license on May 29.

The Nevada Legislature passed a bill last year seeking to streamline licensing. But fees, the cost of a health permit and insurance requirements pose an enormous financial burden on the vendors that the bill was meant to help.
