LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 38-year-old man was killed and his passenger had life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday night near Meadview, Arizona, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said.
Dennis Lee Wilson II of Meadview was declared dead at the scene of the crash at mile post 37.2 on Pierce Ferry Road, MCSO officials said. The crash was reported at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday.
Wilson’s passenger, who was identified only as an adult female, was flown by helicopter to a Las Vegas hospital, officials said.
An investigation determined that a sedan southbound on Pierce Ferry Road left the roadway. The driver overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll several times, according to the sheriff’s office. Both the driver and the passenger were thrown from the vehicle.
Investigators said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. Officials said seat belts weren’t in use.
Meadview is a two-hour drive from Las Vegas via U.S. 93 in Arizona to Pierce Ferry Road.
