LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police are investigating a deadly crash on the Las Vegas Strip Friday morning that involved a hit-and-run driver and a person attempting to cross the street.

The crash was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. That intersection is closed, and traffic is being diverted.

The person who was hit was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they found the vehicle involved in the crash a short distance from the scene, but it was unoccupied.

Traffic reporter Nate Tannenbaum suggests motorists use Tropicana Avenue or Spring Mountain Road for east or west travel and Paradise Road for north and south travel.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
