LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead following a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning on Sahara Avenue east of Valley View Boulevard.

The crash was reported around 1:15 a.m. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan police, it’s believed the pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in a gray sedan heading eastbound on Sahara. The sedan fled the area and the pedestrian was pronounced dead when medical help arrived.

Sahara was closed to traffic until nearly 6 a.m. due to debris on the road. The crash is under investigation.
