LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Las Vegas early Saturday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., North Las Vegas police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a Jeep and a pedestrian on Losee Road south of Craig Road.

Police said that the Jeep left the scene before officers arrived.

When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 40s or 50s, suffering from serious injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said that the pedestrian was walking while pushing a shopping cart southbound on Losee Road when he was hit by a Jeep traveling northbound on Losee.

According to witness statements and nearby surveillance video, the Jeep pulled over near the crash but left shortly after. The Jeep was last seen driving northbound on Losee Road through the intersection of Craig Road.

The Jeep is described as a 2-door, red or maroon Jeep Wrangler, police said.
