LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A North Las Vegas park that recently opened in June and abruptly closed a month later has residents claiming that they are still paying for it as part of their HOA dues.

Residents living near Tule Springs Regional Park said they are now looking for answers as to why the park is no longer open.

“I went and emailed the City of North Las Vegas. They were awesome and replied right away and explained I needed to get ahold of our HOA, so I did. They also responded quickly and explained it was our Master HOA that is responsible and that there is a dispute on payment,” Loralee Gonzalez Tule Springs resident said.

The HOA management team, CAMCO shared with Gonzalez that it’s the Board of Directors at First Service Residential’s responsibility to maintain the park, and due to their refusal to make payments, the park is closed until further notice.

“There’s no signage, no comment or resolve as to what is going on,” Gonzalez expressed to 8 News Now.

From trash left behind to overgrown grass and bathrooms that have been locked up, Gonzalez added that she and her fellow residents just want answers.

The park has since been closed for months with barriers blocking the entrance and some residents still finding a way in.

Pam Lydick also resides nearby and told 8 News Now the park was a major selling point for those who moved into the neighborhood a couple of years ago.

“I paid my bill a couple of days ago to First Residential Service,” she added. “To see them tell us that we can’t use the park is depressing.”

8 News Now reached out to the HOA board several times over the last month. On Tuesday, HOA President Francis A. Covington with The Villages at Tule Springs, Southwest Village Three released the following statement.

“The Villages at Tule Springs, Southwest Village Three Board of Directors is committed to transparency and compliance with state and federal fiduciary requirements. Homeowner billing for Tule Springs Regional Park was paused from October 2023 until August 2024. Currently, invoiced fees ($24.00/mo.) include catch-up charges for unbilled payments. The community withheld payments for the maintenance of the Tule Springs Regional Park due to incomplete and unclear invoicing by the park’s management company. Without the necessary documentation, the board was legally unable to authorize these payments. Despite multiple requests for detailed information, the park’s management company did not provide adequate records up until recently. We are actively working with legal counsel, the City of North Las Vegas, and other stakeholders to address this issue promptly and ensure fair outcomes for our residents.”

Tulle Springs Regional Park is located at 1096 West Deer Springs Way in North Las Vegas near 215 and Revere Street.
