LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — City of North Las Vegas officials have given the green light to making a $380 million mixed-use development at the site of the former Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho.
In 2022, Station Casinos tore down the Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho casino.
Since then, the land has remained empty, covered in gravel and home to nothing but an ice rink. But now, that’s all about to change. The plan is to turn the lots into a massive complex featuring housing, businesses restaurants and recreational facilities.

Currently, the only structure on the site is the ice rink from the Fiesta Rancho days. It remains in use, hosting youth hockey games every Saturday. Hockey moms, like Laura Cortez, are excited about the upcoming project.
“We always think about it when we come by at night and it’s super empty and it’s super dark, and we always know how nice it would be to have something,” Cortez said. “Even today. We had practice this morning and an hour in between. It’d be nice to just come out and hop and get a breakfast, get something to eat really fast, rather than have to drive somewhere.”
The current plan includes constructing a new ice rink and transforming the existing one into an indoor field. Youth hockey players who spoke with 8 News Now are eagerly looking forward to the changes.
“I’m tired of playing in this rink,” said Dillon, a goalkeeper.
Dillon, Jett and Jordan all play hockey together. They say the new development will make the pre and post-game meal easy to get.
“I feel great about it, like, when you go out her, you have to drive like five miles away to and then come back when we have like different games and then practices,” Jordan said.
Hylo Park can break ground as soon as this year.
“When you bring in good things, good products, good people and good things happen,” Cortez said. “So I have a good feeling that things, things will change over here and it will be a positive environment.”
