LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — North Las Vegas business owners and neighbors are quick to describe what they saw in a deadly Friday shooting, but they refrained from revealing their identities out of concern it will happen again.
On Friday, police responded to the 2500 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard near Carey Avenue after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 15-year-old Daniel Robles suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
Despite life-saving measures, the Rancho High School sophomore was pronounced dead at the scene, NLVPD said. One week before the beginning of summer break.
Business owners and residents told 8 News Now the neighborhood has been plagued with shootings, alleging three shootings so far this month.

An NLVPD spokesperson confirmed there have been three shootings this month and pointed to ongoing efforts to curb the criminal activity.
“The North Las Vegas Police Department has and will continue to carry out our vision, which is to enhance the safety and security of our citizens by providing effective, efficient law enforcement, and promote community partnerships,” a city spokesperson wrote. “With this stated, our patrol officers have conducted over 33 business and neighborhood patrols since the beginning of the month, with a goal of being visible and in the area when needed.
