OVERTON, NV (KLAS) — A Nevada State Park Ranger shot and killed a person in Valley of Fire State Park Wednesday afternoon, according to a release from the Nevada Division of State Parks.
According to the release, a park ranger stationed at Valley of Fire shot their service weapon while responding to a call in the park, hitting one person.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the person dead. According to the division, the park ranger was not injured.
Valley of Fire State Park remains closed to visitors, the release stated. The division did not release any details about the call or the person shot.
