LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a curb in central Las Vegas valley, police said.
On Friday, at approximately 9 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the single-motorcycle crash on West Bonanza Road at North Tonopah Drive.
Police said the motorcyclist was traveling west on Bonanza with a group of other motorcyclists. As the rider entered a two-way street, he passed the other motorcyclists at a high speed and hit a raised curbed median.
LVMPD said the 51-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and landed on the roadway. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The motorcyclist’s death marks the 138th traffic-related fatality in the 2024 LVMPD jurisdiction.
