LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon that led to the closure of a major Las Vegas interstate.
Nevada State Police (NSP) responded to the crash around 12:30 p.m. at the northbound I-11 at Railroad Pass off-ramp.
Police said the crash involved a semi-tractor and a motorcycle. Medical personnel pronounced the motorcyclist, identified as a man, dead at the scene.
All northbound lanes of I-11 are currently closed at Railroad Pass, including the I-11 off-ramp. Northbound traffic is being diverted at Exit 15A (Railroad Pass on-ramp) onto the east frontage road, Dawson Avenue. From there, vehicles can continue to Wagon Wheel to re-enter northbound I-11.
Police urge drivers to use alternate routes and avoid the area. This closure will be for an undetermined time, due to an investigation, NSP said.
