LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police arrested a man after he allegedly tried to kill another man in an “unproved attack” on an RTC bus, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Kyle Wilson, 32, faces an attempted murder charge following his arrest on Feb. 7, records said.

Wilson allegedly stabbed the other man several times with a large knife “in an unproved attack” on the bus near Main Street and Washington Avenue, police said. Officers located Wilson about a half hour after the attack near Bruce Street and Searles Avenue.

At the time of Wilson’s arrest, a bench warrant for Wilson’s arrest was active for a different charge of assault with a deadly weapon in an unrelated case, records said.

Police identified Wilson through prior booking photos and surveillance from the bus, they said. The victim survived his injuries.

During Wilson’s initial court appearance Tuesday, prosecutors asked Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Amy Chelini to set bail at $100,000. Chelini set Wilson’s bail at $75,000 and ordered him to wear an ankle monitor should he post bond.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 26.

After a high-profile murder on a bus in 2023, the RTC has implemented several security measures, including hundreds of armed security guards and new technology to prevent bus violence. The 8 News Now Investigators will explore these changes in the coming weeks.
