LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man riding a stolen motorcycle is dead after running a red light in the west Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

On Saturday around 7:30 a.m., Metro police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Buffalo and Alta drives.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements showed that a stolen Kawasaki motorcycle was driving northbound on Buffalo Drive approaching the intersection at the same time a Chevrolet Express van was driving southbound on Buffalo Drive, also approaching the intersection.

The crash occurred when the Chevrolet made a left turn as the light cycled to red and the motorcycle entered the intersection, failing to stop at the red light. The motorcycle crashed into the side of the Chevrolet and overturned, resulting in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.
