LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 44-year-old man died on Tuesday following a crash in the west Las Vegas valley.

At around 8:30 p.m., the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of State Route 159 and the west entrance to the Red Rock Resort.

During their investigation, police discovered that a black 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling eastbound on SR 159 when a person outside a marked crosswalk came into the Chevy’s path.

The person identified as Kenyon Bybee, 44, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was announced dead by emergency medical personnel.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup entered the resort parking lot, stayed at the scene, and cooperated with the investigating officers.

NSPHP has investigated 59 fatal crashes, which have resulted in 67 fatalities for the 2024 year.
