LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Las Vegas man is in critical condition after a crash involving an electric scooter and an SUV in the central valley.
It happened Friday shortly after 2:30 p.m. near Karen Avenue and Joe W. Brown near Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 2015 Toyota 4Runner was traveling eastbound on Karen Avenue approaching the
intersection with Joe W. Brown Drive, preparing to make a left turn on a flashing yellow left turn arrow.
A pedestrian riding a Kukirin G4 Electric Scooter was traveling westbound on Karen Avenue in the right of two travel lanes, police said. The Toyota began making the left turn as the pedestrian was entering the intersection. A collision occurred when the pedestrian struck the right side of the Toyota, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene of the crash.
