LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person riding a scooter is fighting for his life after a collision with a sedan left him with life-threatening injuries Friday, police said.
The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. on Friday when a vehicle collided with someone riding a scooter. It happened on West Hacienda Avenue, west of South Decatur Boulevard. The scooter rider was crossing Decatur Boulevard outside of a “marked or implied crosswalk,” police said, and was thrown from the scooter and onto the road.
First responders took the scooter rider, identified only as a 63-year-old man from Las Vegas, to an area hospital where he was last said to be in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver of the sedan involved in the crash remained on the scene and showed no signs of impairment. The crash remains under investigation.
