LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in the southwest valley Sunday.

The collision occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday when investigators say a man was crossing Blue Diamond Road, near the South Cimarron Road intersection, outside of a marked crosswalk and against a traffic signal. He was struck by a compact car traveling east down Blue Diamond Road.

The unidentified man was taken to an area hospital where he is being treated. Police described his injuries as “critical.” The vehicle driver remained at the scene, law enforcement officials said, and is not suspected of impairment.

The collision is under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
