LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 40-year-old Bullhead City, Arizona, man faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault in a Friday shooting, police said.

Jack Richard Valenzuela Jr. was arrested Friday and was expected to be booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

He is accused in the shooting of a 36-year-old Bullhead City man who had wounds to his neck area, arm, knee and finger, according to the Bullhead City Police Department. Police responded to the scene at about 4 p.m. and the shooting victim was taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. The man was later transported to a Las Vegas hospital for further treatment.

Police said the shooting happened after a verbal altercation in Valenzuela’s residence.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
