LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend following an argument in southwest Las Vegas, according to police.
On Sunday, around 4 a.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 9300 block of Aspen Shadow Street, near the intersection of Cimarron and Blue Diamond roads.
When officers arrived they spoke with 50-year-old Paul Moore, who “stated he had shot his girlfriend,” LVMPD said. When officers entered the residence, they found the woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said medical personnel arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that Moore and the victim had been arguing before the shooting occurred, police said. He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on an open murder charge.
Court records show Moore is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Monday at 9 a.m.
