LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man accused of hitting and killing a 62-year-old man riding an e-bike faces a separate DUI charge in a prior pending case, a Las Vegas judge stated Saturday.
Jesus Robles Jr. faces charges of DUI, reckless driving, failure to properly maintain a travel lane, and failure of proof of insurance, among other charges.

Robles appeared in court Saturday in front of Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Holly Stoberski after he was arrested Friday. According to police, on Friday around 2 p.m. Robles was driving an unregistered black 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Jones Boulevard, north of the intersection with Elkhorn when, for unknown reasons, he failed to maintain his lane. Robles then entered the bike lane, hitting a 62-year-old man on an e-bike, police said.
The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Robles stayed at the scene and showed signs of impairment, police said. He was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
Storberski stated that Robles would be detained for two days without bail due to other pending cases, one of which was related to another DUI charge. Robles also has had almost 10 prior failures to appear in court, Stoberski said Saturday.
Robles is scheduled to appear back in court on Tuesday.
