LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Local nonprofit CORE, entertainment and consulting company Go BEST and Chase Bank are partnering to host a school supply drive for students in need in the Las Vegas valley.
“Students use up school supplies, and so we just want to make sure they have school supplies all year, so it’s very important that we make sure that they are able to replenish,” Adia Foster vice president of Go BEST!™ said.
CORE is a two-generational program that serves underserved youth and their families within the Clark County School District. CORE students at Clifford O. Findlay Middle School will receive 100 new backpacks filled with school supplies.
The community is invited to drop off new and unused school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, and sanitary products to provide students with a successful and safe academic experience.
Andrea Woods, director of community relations for Go BEST!™, emphasized that education is crucial for success. She highlighted the importance of southern Nevadans coming together to support and prepare young people for a bright future.
“This partnership is about combining resources to ensure that our local students start the school year right by supporting their path to learning,” Woods shared.
The back-to-school drive is taking place at Findlay Middle School on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
