“This is the playground,” Lee Canyon Marketing Coordinator Johnny DeGeorge said. “We’re getting fresh snow, it couldn’t be better than this.”

DeGeorge told 8 News Now the weather couldn’t have come at a better time as the ski and snowboard resort prepares for an action-packed weekend.

Feel Good Friday takes place Friday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lee Canyon will donate $5 from each $25 daily lift ticket to the High Fives Foundation, a non-profit supporting people with life-altering injuries in adaptive outdoor sports.

Little Air and Style is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Rabbit Peak.

The annual youth skiing and snowboarding competition is open to kids ages 4 to 16.

DeGeorge told 8 News Now the snowpack on the mountain is perfect for both events.

“We haven’t confirmed totals, but we are about a foot of snow,” he said Thursday. “Luckily last week we had a 28-inch storm, so a good foot on top of that, our snowpack is strong right now.”

People hitting the slopes said snow conditions are always welcome and they hope others in the valley will also experience it firsthand.

“The season just reset, you know?” Vasquez said. “It’s fresh. It’s fresh”

“It’s part of your backyard,” DeGeorge concluded. “So come enjoy it.”

DeGeorge recommends arriving early to beat the crowds Friday through Sunday.

Four-wheel drive or snow chains are required to drive up the mountain.
