LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Water park operators say a long winter has delayed seasonal openings. However, parks like Cowabunga Bay in Las Vegas are finally gearing up for summer.

Cowabunga Vegas Waterparks owns two locations in the valley, one in Henderson and another in Summerlin. The water park is the largest youth employer in the valley and is recruiting for over 1,000 seasonal and part-time positions.

Cowabunga Bay’s new additions in 2024 include a $1.2 million kitchen to expedite guest service, more shaded areas, and additional seating. The parks have over 50 attractions for families to enjoy.

Cowabunga Bay in Henderson is ranked fourth in USA Today’s Top Ten Best Outdoor Water Parks.

Regional Manager Cade Vereen said those who work at the parks are excited to get the season started.

“We’ve got an exciting summer full of events, more neon nights, more adult nights,” Vereen said.

The doors open on April 13, with a Vegas Plunge — a collaboration with Special Olympics Nevada. For more information about the parks and available jobs, visit the Cowabunga Vegas website.
