LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A teenager who killed his father last year took a plea deal Thursday on a lesser charge, documents said.
Lincoln Peterson, 15, killed his father, Jeremy Peterson, on Dec. 28, 2024. After the shooting, police said Jeremy Peterson had recently taken away his son’s electronic devices.
The shooting happened inside the family home in the 6600 block of Tampa Court near Smoke Ranch Road and Rainbow Boulevard. After his arrest, police booked Lincoln Peterson into a juvenile detention center and charged him with open murder.
Records show Lincoln Peterson agreed to plead guilty to a charge of voluntary manslaughter with the use of a deadly weapon, which carries a sentence of 1-10 years. It was not immediately clear Friday if he made a sentencing deal with prosecutors.
A sentencing was scheduled for June 5.
