LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Las Vegas Storm a local youth hockey team is preparing to go to Quebec, Canada to play in one of the most competitive youth tournaments around the world.

The under-12 team is coached by John Siemer looks to not only win the tournament but show the rest of the world that Las Vegas is a hockey town.

“I’m pretty excited that we get to play and represent Las Vegas,” Maddox Agius, who plays wing for the club said.

Coach Siemer, who played on the same ice as the team, now practices taking his team to compete in tournaments and describes it as a full-circle moment. 

“I’m looking forward to them being there just being able to represent, Nevada first off, and then represent the club,” he shared with 8 News Now. “It is going to be a really, really tremendous time for them, and I look forward to seeing the competition from around the world.”

Coach Siemer also added that the team has been preparing very hard for their upcoming tournament which starts on Feb. 12 and goes through Feb. 23. Those interested in helping the team by donating towards their trip to Canada, can contact them through the Las Vegas Storm Facebook page.
