LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas Astronomical Society is hosting a stargazing event just 20 miles from downtown Las Vegas.

Attendees will be able to observe celestial wonders through high-quality telescopes with guidance from experienced astronomers at the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly for the cooler evening temperatures and bring a red-light flashlight or headlamp to help preserve night vision.

For safety reasons, pets will not be allowed, as the area contains tripping hazards and delicate equipment.

Entry to the event is priced at $10 per vehicle, cash only, with exact change recommended. Gates will close at 7:30 p.m., and vehicles arriving after 8:00 p.m. will not be admitted.

This event offers a rare opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky just outside the city.
