LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Destruction in a Las Vegas southwest neighborhood has residents frustrated and many paying for the damage left behind this past weekend.
Residents living in the community of Cactus Ridge told 8 News Now they woke up on Saturday to cars being slammed and trash bins being hit all caught on camera.
“We come outside and find it all the way down the street. At least five houses down bashed up against a truck with two trash cans squeezed between it,” Kayden Accinelli said.
He added that he and several other neighbors found their property damaged allegedly by a black KIA soul terrorizing the neighborhood.
“You can see where they pull up nose to nose to other vehicles and push them like they did with my neighbor’s car and pushed it 200 feet down the street,” Pete Crofton who lives nearby said.
Accinelli’s mom Crista showed 8 News Now several videos she found on her neighborhood watch app which showed a car targeting different neighbors.
“These kids are out causing havoc. Causing damage to multiple houses and cars and they are stealing things from people and what is going to be next,” Crista said.
A few houses down the road, neighbor Pete Crofton said he was looking at $800 worth of damage to his truck.
“Unfortunately, I’ll have to claim this on my insurance and pay a $500 deductible and then get $300 of it covered, and then my rates will go up,” Crofton added.
Both Accinelli and Crofton said when they filed a police report with Metro, the response they got, was less than encouraging.
“We didn’t get a clear frame of the plate, so Metro said they couldn’t do much about it and it wouldn’t be investigated further,” Accinelli told 8 News Now.
“There is real property damage taking place and there is potential for someone to get truly hurt from this. I hope that Metro will stand up and take notice,” Crofton added.
If you know anything about these incidents or the car that was involved, contact Las Vegas Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
