LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is honoring the K9 officers who have died, some in the line of duty.
Officers held a ceremony Friday as plaques were unveiled with the dogs’ names and years of service. The plaques are embedded in the walkway to the entrance of Metro. The following dogs were honored:
- K9 Rudi – End of Watch in April 2002
- K9 Buddy – End of Watch in Oct. 2003
- K9 Ben – End of Watch in Feb. 2009
- K9 Marco – End of Watch in May 2012
- K9 Nicky – End of Watch in March 2016
- K9 Kimura – End of Watch in July 2023
- K9 Ash – End of Watch in June 2024
