On Sunday, Aug. 18 around 7:10 p.m., Metro police responded to a report of a battery in the 6200 block of Coldwater Bay Drive near East Desert Inn Road and South Hollywood Boulevard.

While officers were responding, an officer saw the suspect, later identified as Clark, jumping the wall into the City of Las Vegas Water Treatment Plant. A Metro air unit began to track Clark, who ran into a cul-de-sac and attempted to jump a wall into a neighborhood but failed, police said.

Clark then came back onto the street and was taken into custody, police said. Clark was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and then was transported to the Clark County Detention Center, according to police.

When officers asked Clark why he ran from police he gave an answer the officer could not understand and then said he was done talking to them, the report said.

Police said the initial 911 caller said Clark stabbed her brother-in-law with a knife and could be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Officers spoke to Clark’s brother who said he and the victim were playing video games in his room when Clark ran into the room, jumped on the bed, and stabbed the victim in his side. Clark then tried to stab his brother but he pulled out a machete, which caused Clark to leave, the report said.

Prior to the stabbing, Clark said he was going to stab someone in the house, leave them in a pool of blood, and then leave the house, according to the report.

Clark had been living at the home on and off but arrived the day before the stabbing when a family member brought him. A couple of hours before the stabbing, Clark was heard saying he was going to kill people in the house, the report said.

Clark also said that he loved his prison mindset and was seen sharpening an 8”-12” kitchen knife on the tile floor of the bathroom saying he was going to stab someone with it, police said.

A witness also told police that it was possible Clark was under to influence of “shrooms” and was known to abuse drugs, the report said.

Police learned that in May, Clark attacked another person in the home, leaving her with bruises. The incident stemmed from the woman not giving Clark marijuana, according to police.

Clark is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 9, records showed.
