LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas-area hair salon in the Arts District lost thousands of dollars worth of merchandise after it was burglarized, the owner told 8 News Now.
“It’s clear to me that this was a planned attack,” Jenn Hunter, owner of ‘Atomic Style Lounge’ shared with 8 News Now.
Jenn Hunter was left distraught and frustrated after her business of eight years was burglarized with thousands of dollars of merchandise stolen. The thieves took all they could in a matter of minutes.
“Three masked and hooded intruders came through the back and quickly went in and out with garbage bags,” Hunter shared.
Hunter caught the thieves on camera taking everything: from handbags, t-shirts, sunglasses, and wallets to Atomics’ entire haircare line. She immediately contacted police.
“They looked around and I showed the officer the point of entry. We gave him the preliminary list of items missing,” she added.
Hunter shared with 8 News Now that she fears the Arts District is moving in the wrong direction as crime against local businesses has been ramping up this year.
“My prime motivation in sharing my story is to help ensure that this community doesn’t start backsliding to what it was years ago.”
“Many businesses have been hit recently and I’m just now hearing about it so it’s time for us to come together and share information so we can catch them,” Hunter added.
In addition to Atomic Style Lounge, ‘Tacotarian,’ ‘Fresca Skate Shop’ and ‘Dig it Coffee’ have all been burglarized this year. Metro Police incorporated a Problem Oriented Policing team known as “POP” to further patrol the area because of this.
