LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – One person was killed after a two-vehicle highway crash on Christmas Eve, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place just after 6 p.m. on Highway 91 in Littlefield, Arizona which is about 90 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
The investigation revealed that a Ford truck was traveling northbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and hit a Toyota that was headed southbound. After the crash, the driver of the Ford, who was later identified as Michael Doan, 46, of Las Vegas, was suspected by deputies of running from the scene but was later found hiding a short distance away.
According to deputies, Doan admitted to his involvement in the crash and showed signs and symptoms of impairment. He was taken to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility where he faces charges of 2nd-degree murder and aggravated assault.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the crash scene and a passenger was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and additional charges are pending, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
