Got hungry and randomly found this place on Yelp called Spring by China Mama. Apparently this is their second location. I don’t think I have been to their first location, but who knows. This one is pretty close to the strip. Found parking easily. I think a lot of people aren’t out cuz it’s too hot lol.

Speaking of the weather—I’m lovin’ it lol. Ahhh. Warm air lol. The funny thing is my phone and car is heating up fast from the temperature, but me? I’m perfectly content as long as I am in the shade:)

Anyways, back to the restaurant. I walk in and am like oooooou aaaaaauw cuz it’s so pretty and elegant and has light soft soothing Chinese background music. I see the host and gasp at how lovely her outfit is and compliment her on it. She shows me to a table and I’m approached by a very nice server with service like you’d get at a high end place. Like him noticing I brought a drink and stating that, and asking if I wanted anything else to drink like ice water? He didn’t bat an eye when I said water with no ice. It’s like the little things, ya know? I’m impressed so far. Look at the pretty place setting too! I sit back and peruse the menu. Also, I notice a private room for diners. Digging the vibe so far!

So what got me intrigued to try this place was their duck, which seemed like a good serving size for one person. And I liked the presentation lol. But honestly, the entire menu looks good. I was having trouble deciding and decided to get the set menu. I chose the duck, eggs with scallions, lettuce, and duck soup. LOOK at the presentation!!! Then he prepared and showed me how to prepare it. It’s slightly different than regular Peking duck. This has a bigger pancake. And then you actually put the eggs and veggies in as well. I actually put red onions in there too! The sauce is a tad different. The spring wrap tasted very homemade meal and I really liked that. Next time, I would get the vermicelli as I can tell that would go really well eating it this way. I told the server that and he was like oooo, yes, it’s REALLY good lol. I think I’d do it with the pork next time. Oh, and he said it’s called the spring wrap cuz you eat it the last day of spring? Or was it first day of spring? I forget lol

The food was good. Reminds me of home cooking so I liked that. The soup was different! They put a LOT of white pepper lol. The broth is unique. I like broth soup so it’s hard to go wrong there as long as it isn’t too salty. I didn’t end up finishing it. It was more food than I thought even though it looked pretty small. I was just gonna pack up everything in one box, but server insisted and suggested boxing separately. They have the nice take out containers too!:)
