The opening of the highly anticipated adults-only golf attraction is mere weeks away. On November 8, Swingers Las Vegas will open at the Mandalay Bay with four golf courses, cocktail golf carts, an arcade, and New York’s Emmy Squared pizzeria.
Swingers takes over the 40,000-square-foot space on the Las Vegas Strip that used to be the Light nightclub, and goes all-in on whimsy with mini golf courses themed to settings like a clocktower, a hot air balloon, a carousel, and a meteorite. The company raised $50 million to launch the Vegas flagship location and courses are over-the-top with obstacles like windmills and waterwheels through which to usher golf balls, projection lighting effects that animate the set pieces, and greens styled to emulate the English countryside. Cocktails can be ordered at the bar or by roving golf cart caddies. And a buzzy New York pizza restaurant is slinging pies for a bite between swings.
New York’s celebrated pizza maker Emmy Squared strays from the mold of the New York grandma pie with pan-sized, deep-edged Detroit-style pizzas — and it’s opening its first Las Vegas location inside Swingers. Born out of Brooklyn, the burgeoning chain has locations across the U.S., loading focaccia-like dough with signature sauces and edging crusts with cheese for crispy bottoms and caramelized sides. Emmy’s earned a following for its double-patty burgers, crispy chicken parmesan sandwiches, and pizzas like one loaded with homemade vodka sauce, red sauce, and parsley pesto on a base that manages to be both crunchy and fluffy.
Golf in Las Vegas is clearly having a moment, with three other golf attractions opening this year. Matt Grech-Smith, Swingers co-CEO says that the trend is a far-reaching one — Swingers also has locations in the U.K. and Dubai. “At the core of this movement is that people are prioritizing experiences like never before, driven by social media and memories of lockdown,” says Grech-Smith. While Swingers has bars for bellying up to order drinks like the gin and tonic-based Swinger or the Las Vegas exclusive What Happens At Swingers with passionfruit liqueur and vanilla syrup, the venue also has an old timey-style arcade, a DJ booth, and ample high-saturation scenery for post-putting revelry.
Swingers Las Vegas opens on November 8 and tickets start at $30 per person and are available to book online now. A typical round of mini golf is nine holes and takes about 40 minutes to play with tee times running from 12:30 p.m. until midnight daily.
