LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 41-year-old Henderson woman faces an attempted murder charge after her husband was shot in the back on Wednesday.

Amber Bender was booked on a charge of attempted 2nd degree murder per domestic violence, according to information from the Mohave County (Arizona) Sheriff’s Office.

Bender’s husband, who was not identified in the report, was flown to a Las Vegas hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said Friday.

Mohae County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies were dispatched to a home in Dolan Springs just after noon on Wednesday. A female subject told police she shot her husband at a residence in the 17000 block of Needle Drive. When deputies arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot would to his back.

Dolan Springs is about an hour and 15 minutes southeast of Las Vegas on U.S. 93.

Deputies and detectives located Bender, a Henderson resident, at a separate location and arrested her. She was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
