LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — During Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 through October 15, the City of Las Vegas will host family-friendly events, including “Food Truck Thursdays,” which aim to celebrate the flavors of South and Latin America and capture the essence of Hispanic culture and cuisine.
One of those food trucks is Empanadas 702, which its purveyors say brings the flavors of Argentina to Las Vegas. Empanadas 702 offers what it calls authentic, homemade Argentinian empanadas. Their menu includes traditional beef and chicken, ham and cheese, mozzarella and oregano, spinach, and vegetarian offerings.
Another is Ole Manny’s Seafood Shack, known for mouthwatering seafood tacos and ceviche with a Latin twist. Known as “the best restaurant on wheels,” according to its website, Ole Manny’s offers a variety of classic and exotic flavors like carne asada, surf and turf, spicy octopus, gobernador, smoked tuna, and more. Eaters can add a side of rice and beans to meals and indulge in churros tossed in cinnamon and sugar filled with dulce de leche cream for dessert.
Food Truck Thursdays take place on Sept. 12 and Sept. 26, across from Las Vegas Municipal Court in Downtown Las Vegas near Main Street and Bonneville Avenue and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
